What have we been up to down here..

September: Acclimation & Training

Behold, I am doing a new thing. The old must go for the new to come.

1. New team members arrive to join the base: Gabe, Jesse, myself, and later- Brady and Kimberly.

2. Us "newbies" spent most of that first month adjusting to life, ministry, and culture in the midst of our spiritual lives being turned upside down (in a good way!).

3.  In addition to us acclimating to the ways of the base, we also corporately hosted and trained a group of people headed to begin a base in the Philippines. They are on the ground there now and doing well!

4. We took a day trip to the beach! Maybe we got to release baby sea turtles. Yep that happened.

October: Hosting

Our heartbeat here at the base is to seek the Fathers heart. We want his agenda to be our agenda. We start every day by asking who He might want us to spend time with and what His timing and purpose is for that individual/group. So it goes with anyone who comes to visit!

1. We hosted many of our local friends and those we're investing in for dinner.

2. We had a short team team of roughly 25 join us at our home for a worship night.

3. We had some guys from a ministry in Honduras come stay with us for a few days for rest and vision casting.

4. Clint, the Long Term Director at Adventures, came and stayed with us for about a week.

5. We said goodbye to the Philippines team by having the Guatemala vs. Philippines Olympics.

6. For Halloween we dressed up and went to a murder mystery party!

Nov: "On Location"

… and now.

1.  Up to this point the Father hadn't allowed the base to host any large (50+) groups for an extended period. It just wasn't time yet. Until November. Bam. Within a week we went from the possibility of hosting a group not being on our radar at all, to be loaded up in our van headed to meet a group of 50 college students at Lake Atitlan.

3. The group went from being young and disorganized to at rest in the Father's love and corporately seeking His day to day plan. They have 6 more months on their trip (three in Asia and three in Africa) and I can't wait to hear how the Lord continues to work in and through them and how just these three weeks with them hear might affect that outcome!

4.  Oh, also in the midst of this we were hosting/training a small team that is planning on starting a base in Cambodia when the Lord says "now." Continue to pray for them as they individually prepare in various places around the World!

Part 2 to come…
