A “Hands off” Experience

As I looked around the table tonight I was astounded by the glory of the Lord around me. It has been one of those days where the Lord is so near that you don't want to interrupt or get in the way of anything that He might have up His sleeve.

This week we have three visitors from Honduras staying with us. Two guys around the age of twenty who are planning on joining us here in the house in January. The third guy? The man the Lord used to rescue these younger two off the street.

Tony and his wife moved down to Honduras six years ago to step in the work that the Lord had called them to. They have played a huge roll in rescuing countless teenage boys and girls off of the street, housing them, discipling them and raising them as their own.

The two guys that have come to hang out with us this week have been with Tony since he began and it is remarkable to see where they are in their life journeys from drug addicted orphans to spiritual sons whose only addiction is to know more and more the love of the Father. I am excited about what's to come with having them join us next year!

In addition to having these three at the table, tonight we were able to break bread with our brother Clint, whose most notable title is Son. I have yet to be in a room with this man and not see Jesus. In many ways, Clint is the Father of this base and we honor him in his obedience to the Lord's work in his life and around the world.

(Pictured to the left is Clint- the Director of Long Term Missions with Adventures, Javier- a Guatemalan who has been a part of our team here for roughly five months, and Tony- the Founder and Director of Zion's Gate Ministry in Honduras)

Beside me at the table sat a local Guatemalan man named Luis, (who speaks English- praise the Lord!) who has been involved in ministry here for a long time. His vision to be a father to a fatherless nation and generation is astounding. We see such a high call on his life and the life of his family as they continue to press into the things of the Father and move as they are directed.

On the other side of me sat two people, a brother and sister, that we are in the process of training. Both of them have such a hunger for the Lord and a hunger to be sent out into the nations as missionaries! We believe a large part of the work that the Father has sent us here to do is help train and equip Guatemalans who are to be sent out into the Nations. Guatemala- a sending country!

Beyond these people sat the team- the thirteen of us. Some have been here since the base began eight months ago- some have been here as little as three weeks. It doesn't matter.

What does matter is that at this table there was a glimpse of glory.

A glimpse of eternity as we sit brothers and sisters, side by side all feasting in the presence of the Father. We are His children. His sons and daughters. There is no skin color, no first language, no socio-economical standing or political distinction- only family.

It doesn't matter where we've come from, we are all together answering the call of the Father on our lives to step into more with Him.

As we sat there all engaged in mini-conversations amongst ourselves I couldn't help but grin ear to ear with excitement to see how incredible God is.

He did this.

He is so much bigger than we could imagine. Nations were literally sitting at the table together united only by Christ. It was a depiction of what He has already accomplished and I believe a small foreshadowing of what's to come.

The only response to this kind of moment, this kind of glory is to be hands off. God did this. We did nothing. We simply sit back and inhale His holiness as we exhale praise.

He did this. Oh to dream of how much more He longs to show us and invite us into with Him!

All glory, all honor, all praise to Him!

Ps. the Lord provided a van for us!!               Check it out! The "cloud."
